Our Website

We started the HobUK website back in 2004, the idea back then was to build further on the company and create a new outlet for our products and service, little did we know just how things would go! We spent 4 months building our site then a further 4 or 5 months after going live trying to generate an awareness for the site and our company, it was a real eye opener for us, we had been trading for so many years before the web and have through our shops a loyal customer base, on the net however we had nothing so a scary situation, all of a sudden we were up against the biggest names in the industry online.

We spent in all a couple of years developing and changing our site, building relations with customers and cementing a good reputation for both supply and customer care, this was a development that has put us where we are today, we know we are not the biggest, far from it, but we know where we are and what we can comfortably maintain to deliver what you as our customers expect.

We have grown our online business and expanded our product ranges on a steady basis so that we can keep on top of our stock and supply, and in some cases trading on the internet has opened new doors for us in our trade counters, we now supply more than we ever have before and we continue to expand on our ranges and product lines to keep up with your demands and expectations.

In 2009 we moved our website and warehouse to a dedicated warehouse, to give the website better control over stock and the shops better supply, in 2011 we moved again, after investing in our Biggleswade depot, we returned. Now back in Biggleswade we have streamlined our stock and re-ordering process to ensure what we say we stock we have 99% of the time, we also found that having the website away from a depot for us created another problem, we were never able to supply from our warehouse, being back and sited within one of our trading stores allows us to supply goods to customers who find us online but wish to collect, this has proven to be a good move for us and has been welcomed by our current customer base.

We will continue now on product expansion, we have plans to further web, product and shop development that will continue to secure the foundations of our company that we have worked so hard to build.
