A Complete kit for the treatment of rising damp in brick walls, allowing you to cover a 7.5 Sq Mtr area complete with tape and fixings.

Oldroyd XP is a studded polypropylene waterproofing membrane with a special mesh welded to one side. It is fixed to damp, contaminated walls using Oldroyd Plaster Plugs, with the studs facing the wall. This creates an air gap, which allows the wall to breathe whilst blocking the passage of moisture. On the reverse side of the membrane, the special mesh can be plastered onto, allowing a plaster finish to be achieved without risk of contamination from any damp or salts in the wall.

Oldroyd XP can also be used on external walls to provide protection against penetrating damp.

Oldroyd XP incorporates Multi-Layer Technology resulting in a membrane with greater strength than other studded membranes. Oldroyd XP can also be used below ground, however we recommend that our technical department is consulted before using the product for this application.

Oldroyd P Plaster Membrane

Oldroyd-P Plaster Membrane - Allows you to cover damp, contaminated, or degraded wall surfaces with a smooth plaster finish.

Oldroyd-P Plaster Membrane (sometimes called a "mesh membrane" or a "plaster lath") is a studded polypropylene membrane, similar to Oldroyd Xv Membrane, but incorporating a special "mesh" backing that can be plastered directly on to.

Oldroyd-P Plaster Membrane is attached to walls by means of the specially designed Oldroyd Plaster Plug. Once attached to the wall, a plaster finish can simply be applied. Alternatively, plasterboard can be fixed directly on to Oldroyd-P membrane. The plasterboard is attached to the membrane by applying dabs of bonding compound to the heads of the Oldroyd Plaster Plugs (see pictures).

Oldroyd-P Plaster Membrane is especially useful in situations where a damp wall is contaminated by salts or the residue of previous attempts to waterproof the wall (such as bitumen). Unlike cementitious waterproofing products (such as SWS Waterproofing Slurry), Oldroyd-P Plaster Membrane can be applied directly to contaminated surfaces with minimal preparation.

Oldroyd-P Plaster Membrane can also be used following the installation of a new damp-proof course. Normally, redecoration using wallpapers or high-build paints is not possible for at least six months after the installation of a new DPC (in order to allow the wall to dry out). However, the air gap provided by Oldroyd-P Plaster Membrane can allow the wall to dry out, while allowing virtually any finish to be applied without the inconvenience of having to wait for six months or more.

It is possible to use Oldroyd-P Plaster Membrane on external walls to prevent rain penetration through masonry.
