Making A Purchase

Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our Catalog, and click on any items that you wish to buy and put them into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on "Order" and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to satisfy the order.

Ordering online is easy - just follow these simple steps

After browsing through our shop, click on the product that interests you to expose a list of features and benefits.

• To order, click Add to Basket where you may enter the quantity you require in the appropriate box (don't worry you can change your mind at any point up to confirming your order, also some pages within the site give you the option to enter a quantity before you add them to you shopping basket.)

• View your Shopping Basket at any stage to amend your order.

• Proceed to the Checkout when you are ready to make your purchase.

• Complete your invoice address details.

Optional Enter your delivery address, this must be a registered business address, we are unable to ship to a separate 3rd party domestic address.

• Enter any delivery instructions, Please note that we will not pass on delivery instructions to our courier if a signature can not be obtained for order values over £100.00, i.e. Leaving in back garden or in porch etc. We are happy for items to be delivered to a neighbour, or to a registered business address.

• Select your payment method from the options available, if paying by credit or debit card select the top option "Protx" and enter your payment details in the secure area.

• Click finish to confirm your order.

• Print your receipt, if required.

• Your order is now being processed, an email will confirm your order and it's details. Once your order has been dispatched we will email you with details and information on how you can track it's progress. Thank you for shopping online with HobUK.


We accept all major credit and debit card payments (we do not accept American Express). We accept Visa, MasterCard, Switch/Maestro and Solo. You may send your credit card information via phone, or over the Internet.

All payment via the internet is taken by 'SagePay' payment service providers. This means that you can shop on our site with total confidence and peace of mind. Every transaction processed by 'SagePay' is also checked to validate the authenticity and validity of your payment card as well as indicators of possible fraudulent use.

About your order:

• All orders are dispatched at 3pm (Monday to Friday).

• Payments can be made using Visa, Master Card, Delta, Switch/Maestro and Solo.

• We will acknowledge your order by e-mail.

• Once your order has left the warehouse, we will notify you of the anticipated delivery date.

Telephone Ordering Telephone orders are welcome, our sales team will be happy to help between the hours of 07.30 to 16.00 Monday to Friday and can be contacted on 0845 0099870. We are unable to guarantee next working day delivery on telephone orders, in most cases delivery is within two days. All value added offers and extra discounts are not available to orders placed via the telephone.

Payment Scoring Our payment service providers not only check your card to ensure that it is registered to the invoice address provided, but also provide a fraud score, this gives a risk assessment on the card, the name used, the address & email address plus many other factors. We reserve the right to place high value orders on hold for fraud score results, or decline the order, if we decline we will credit the card:*

• For orders that do not match the address or postcode we will void or credit the order within 24 hours.
• For high fraud score returns we will normally credit the card within 24 hours.
• *If a transaction triggers unusual scoring we may hold the payment for up to 30 days, this can give banks time to ensure the card is not being used fraudulently. You will be notified by email should your payment be on hold or void for any reason.

Shipping And Handling

We normally expect your order to be delivered the next working day within UK Mainland, for the Highland of Scotland including the Shetland islands and Northern Ireland you should allow 2-3 working days. (Monday to Friday). Saturday deliveries are available at an extra surcharge and are always sent on a pre 12 delivery. Any orders placed after 3pm Friday are processed the same day, however you should not expect delivery until the following Tuesday.

*Free delivery over £60 is only available to UK Mainland, this does include all of Scotland. Although other areas do have a shipping charge they are at a discounted rate when spending £60 or more. Full details on our carriage charges and delivery areas can be found in our delivery section.

Please note that if you wish to cancel your order you must notify us immediately, as we do ship items on the same day of receiving the order, the fastest method of contacting us to cancel is here. If your order consists of more than one product, and we are out of stock in part, we will notify you, however we may choose to ship part of your order separately, to minimise the inconvenience to you, you will not be charged extra shipping if we choose to ship your orders separately.

Whilst we aim to have your order delivered on the next working day when placed before 3pm Monday to Friday we can not be responsible for delays and can not offer any form of compensation should your order not arrive, please do not arrange for any work to be carried out until you have received your goods.

Delivery Schedule

We send all goods via Royal Mail or UK Mail couriers on a 1st class and next working day service. Orders placed online or over the phone will be processed and dispatched from our warehouse within 3 working days. We will always notify you of any delays with your order for whatever reason, giving you the chance to cancel, we will notify you in most cases by email.

Back Orders

If your item is not in stock, we will place it on back order for you. You will always be notified by email with the option to cancel your order. In most cases we will include a delivery timescale when we are out of stock, so that you have an idea of how long your order will take.

Tax Charges

For orders made from the UK, the standard rate of 20% VAT is added, we display both excluding and including Vat prices on each product. If you are in an area that does not pay Vat, there will be a box to enter your postcode, if correct it will deduct the Vat rate from your order total. All goods that are exempt from Vat i.e. Safety footwear etc are zero rated, therefore no tax is added.

Credit Card Security

All our credit card payments are processed by 'SagePay' secure payment service provider, giving you total peace of mind. We do not have access to your card details, SagePay are one of the largest payment service providers, all credit card information is encrypted, more information on SagePay can be found on their web site here.

Returns Policy

If you are in any way unhappy with any of your purchases, you can return all unused goods, in their original packaging, within 7 days for a refund or exchange. When returning items please include the original, or a copy of the invoice that we supplied, if you have any questions or concerns you should email us with a description of fault or reason for return along with the make, model or name of the product and we will be happy to advise and provide a solution. At HobUK we also meet the requirements of the Data Protection Act, 1998.

Should a replacement product be required we will arrange for our couriers to deliver the new item and collect the faulty/damaged item at the same time, this will minimise the inconvenience to you, please make sure that the item due to be collected must be packed or wrapped, as the couriers will not collect non-packaged goods, and will be unable to leave the replacement, if they are unable to collect the return, if this does happen you may be liable for a second delivery attempt charge of £7.30 + Vat.

Safety clothing including footwear; any item of safety work wear or footwear that has been ordered and is the wrong size can be returned directly to us for an exchange, please ensure that the items are in the original packaging and are un-used, send them back to us with a note explaining the reason for return, including the correct size required and we will issue a replacement, the cost of returning the item to us is your responsibility, however we will exchange the items carriage free.

If you require a refund, we will credit your origional payment method within 7 days of receipt of the returned product. Please note that the delivery charge is non-refundable. For faulty goods, we will either replace the goods or refund you in full (including delivery charges) refunds for faulty goods are made within 28 days of receipt.

Your statutory rights are unaffected.

You may cancel your order at any stage before, and up to 7 days after the goods are delivered to you by notifying us in writing at the address or emailing us. We aim to process your order for dispatch on the same day of receiving it. Consequently, even if you do cancel your order shortly after placing it, it is possible that we may be unable to prevent goods you have ordered being dispatched to you, if this is the case, you may then be required to return the order to us, for items not required but do require a refund they must be returned at your cost to us within 7 working days and un-used in the origional packaging.
