Below is a section from a letter that was issued to us and all other STIHL main dealers in July 2006:

"Only experienced users are able to order online through a password protected online shop. Passwords may only be given to such kind of persons/companies and offers may only be visible there. Unrestricted access for online ordering is not acceptable."

In order for us to comply with the "Online & Mail Order Policy" that has been implemented by Andreas STIHL Ltd, we have moved all Stihl machinery into our secure, password protected ordering section. The information that we require, in order to comply with the STIHL policy is for registration purposes only, we do not, and will not share any of your details with any 3rd party. The address you supply must be where your card is registered (as on your statement), this is for security reasons, as all your information is pre-filled on our site when you are logged in, the invoice address can not be changed therefore if the card failed security checks your order would not complete. New registrations will remain active for 14 days, if no purchase is made within this time your account will be disabled.

This policy has been placed on ALL Stihl dealers throughout the UK, failure for dealers to adhere to this policy could jeopardise there Stihl dealership, resulting in the loss of that product. HobUK is an online section of our parent company Hire or Buy Group Ltd, with 4 trade counters in East Anglia, we supply many tools through our counters, including Stihl machinery, we will not jeopardise our dealership, therefore we ask that you supply all the required information, failure to do this will result in us not being able to offer you access. Your business or trading name is essential.
